Dandruff is made of dead skin cells. It is a scalp disorder, sometimes accompanied by redness and irritation. It can be treated with special shampoos, but there is not really any treatment available, because it is not quite clear what actually triggers its appearance.
How to prevent it?
By keeping a clean, hydrated scalp. To do it, you need to find the right shampoo for your hair and scalp. In order to find that out, you need to see a specialist.
In the meanwhile, you can try these natural scalp cleaning and nurturing tips:
Baking soda is great for cleaning the scalp and getting rid of the extra sebum which is believed to be one of the causes of dandruff. Just rub at the base of the scalp and leave it for a few minutes to act. Rinse generously with warm water. After rinsing, you shouldn’t feel your hair greasy anymore.
To get rid of greasy hair you can also use white vinegar. Use it to rinse your hair.
To make a shampoo out of the baking soda just mix it with water until you get a smooth paste. Use it to wash your hair as you would use the shampoo.
You can also make a shampoo with cucumber and lemon. Just peel both and throw them in a food processor until you get a smooth paste.
To control oily hair you can also use egg yolks with lemon juice or white vinegar. If you can’t manage to get the egg yolk out after washing your hair with the mixture, just get some baking soda and rub it in the hair. Rinse with warm water.
