How To Clean Your Handbag

Your handbag picks up all kinds of germs throughout the day. And that is because you put it everywhere. On the bus seat, on the floor, at the cashier when doing groceries to get the wallet out. Also you can easily split coffee or other food on it.

Not to mention the inside of your handbag. Admit that you put everything that fits in there. Especially if you’re a mommy and you get the little one out in the park, at the sand pit. You often find stones, pieces of wood or whatever the little one can pick up and put in there, don’t you?

The best way to get rid of the germs is to get an antibacterial pack of tissues which you can use anytime.

You can also use rubbing alcohol or if you want to go green, you can use water and baking soda. Another viable option is white vinegar and baking soda. The baking soda helps with the stains and the vinegar helps with the germs, being a great antibacterial.

You can also put the handbag in the washer at a soft cycle, at the lowest temperature, but not cold water. Put it in the washing machine after wiping it with tissues or rubbing alcohol. You need to wash it inside-out if it is dirtier on the inside. If not, leave it as it is to clean better the outside.

However, check the material the handbag is made of before trying any cleaning method. If it’s dry cleaned only, get it to the cleaners if you don’t want to ruin it. Worst case, if desperate, use a soft cloth damped in water and gently scrub, if we’re talking about dust or a small dirt stain. Or soapy water and a soft cloth, and rinse with a soft cloth and plain water.
